SOCIAL MEDIA STIMULATES CREATIVITY 

 

Social media has been made for people to be able to communicate with each other, wether it is the whole world or a most private sphere. From Facebook, to Youtube or even Vine (RIP), you are allowed to share toughts, photo or even videos. For artists, social medias are a way to let their creativity speak. a most private sphere.

Whatever you share, you will find people that it interests, wether it is painting, singing, funny videos, challenge, tutorials... Every content has its viewers even if it is not the same size for every field. Of course, some social media encourages particular arts. 

​

For Instagram, you see a lot of photographers for example, since it was first a social media where you could only post photos. For them, the goal will be to always find the most beautiful landscapes or to find original ways  to take a pic, through a a prism or a crystal ball  Some will use Photoshop to deliver another style. And even through the same domain, that is how you can appeal to different people. Some prefer pictures of places, some of portraits, more of a vintage style, more edited, everyone can find what they like. And creators really enjoy sharing their art with someone and they always want to do more, to do prettier, to do more creative. They maybe want to appeal to more people, to have more likes, to have more comments so more people will be able to enjoy their art so they have to outdo themselves to offer new content.

Youtube is a great example too, where the creaters on here really have to renew their content very often. They are pressured to release new content every week basically or their views will decrease. They can't show their audience the same thing over and over otherwise people will get bored and stop watching and this is what is very challenging on this platform. That way, creators have to come up with new ideas on a regular basis of they want to increase their audience or just keep the actual one. I think Youtube is great because you can really do anything on it but it is very hard to grow a broad and steady fanbase. You can find a bit of everything on there, wether it is funny videos,

people showcasing their art or trying to teach it to people. You can help others and even inspire them to try new things.

Last but not least, I want to talk about the fastest, growing-wise social media, TikTok, previously Musically. It is crazy to see how big it has become in only two years, with over a billion users. This platform is one of the best to grow a big audience fast, because it gives an equal chance to be seen by a lot of people to everyone, that's why a lot of people are encouraged to free their creativity, they have a very high chance that one video will make a lot of views. After that, you have to keep entertaining the persons that saw you once, for that, you have to follow the trends and adapt it to your content and always bring something new that people have not seen before to catch their eye and keep them captivated.

Social media has its advantages and its disadvantages, I'll give it to you. But it is also a wonderful source of inspiration if you know where to look. It is a great place for people to share their art and build their businesses, some people have built notoriety thanks to social media and can now live from their passion. I wanted to show that it is more then just people posting pictures or videos of themselves, it really is something that goes further and stimulates creativity for some.
