I mostly use Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter. 

 

Have you ever had a bad experience with social networks?

Thankfully I've never had any bad experiences on social media.

Do you think that social networks can be at risk? Why ?

Yes, I think social media can be dangerous because you never really know who's behind the screen, and you could get in a very disturbing situation because of that.

 

Do social networks influence you in everyday life?

Mostly, yes. Because I follow some people that inspire me.

Thanks to social media, I stayed in touch with friends that moved far away from me and I even met some new people.

What is your daily use of social networks?

All the time, which means in the morning waking up, going to class, on the bus, in the bathroom....

No bad experience

Do you think that social networks can be at risk? Why ?

Yes, there can be some risks, for example on Twitter, many people make some jokes that can be misunderstood and then they can be bullied.

Do social networks influence you in everyday life?

I don't know if it influences me but I am a lot on social media

Of course, in my case, I use social media to share my content on YouTube and it gives me more visibility. Social medias are the best thing for that.

I am generally 1 to 2 hours a day in normal times (outside confinement) on social networks

I never had a bad experience on social networks

Do you think that social networks can be at risk? Why ?

​I think that social networks can be at risk given that our personal information is found on the internet and that a lot of people have access to it including malicious people, this information can be used against us (for example later we can get to have a job refused because of a compromising photo of us), moreover we can be hacked.

Do social networks influence you in everyday life?

Yes, networks influence me in everyday life, that's why you have to keep a critical mind. They can influence us positively as well as negatively. For example if we are passionate about fashion it can allow us to maintain our creativity, give us access to information on this environment that we might not have been able to access without the networks. I think it can also influence us negatively in the sense that it can circulate negative ideas, false information or even pollute the mind with useless things that we may not have wanted to have access to.

I almost never go to social media. I use them for professional purposes

I am very careful. I never had a bad experience because I don't become "friends" with the wrong people! I don't accept people I don't know and even less people I don't like

Do you think that social networks can be at risk? Why ?

Of course social media can become a risk. There is almost no censorship, there is everything and anything. This is why I think that we should warn more of the dangers of these platforms because young people are far too addicted to that today.

Fortunately not ! Like I said, I almost don't use social media. I therefore do not risk being influenced since I am never on the lookout for the latest news

Social networks allowed me to build my address book but it did not mean that they brought me more opportunities

I use Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube

What is your daily use of social networks?

I use my social networks on a daily basis. I spend about 3h per day on my networks mostly Instagram.

Have you ever had a bad experience with social networks?

I never had any bad experience on social networks but i still try to be careful

Do you think that social networks can be at risk? Why ?

Of course social networks can be risky and dangerous if you are not careful and speak with unknown person, share too many private informations, use unknown and uncertified link, believe easily anything you can read and so on.

Do social networks influence you in everyday life?

Yes of course i am influenced by social networks. For example i can buy items that i discover on social networks. Also some lifestyle account sometimes Helps me reconsider some of my way of living. 
But anyway i try not to follow and buy anything without having a second check about the items or information.

I cant remember any main opportunity that i got thanks to social networks. Anyways, they were an amazing way to share my cousin humanitary trip around the word. Also it’s a good way to reconnect with some old lost friends.

I use Reddit, Linkedin, Twitch, Discord and Facebook

What is your daily use of social networks?

I use Reddit too much, so I sometimes uninstall it. I almost never use Linkedin and I use Twitch and Discord twice a day.

Have you ever had a bad experience with social networks?

No bad experience because I think we have access to everything and in some way, we became « numb » to what we see and I don't think it is a good thing except maybe we can judge things with more objectivity maybe. But also you don't have access to the same content on Facebook and Tumblr or Reddit for example. I think it is the responsability of the platforms to filter the content that is published on it.

Do you think that social networks can be at risk? Why ?

I think that everything can be seen as good or bad, it depends of the use that is made of it and this is the consequence of it being a very big thing and touching so many people from all around the world.

Do social networks influence you in everyday life?

Reddit probably influences more than I want it to. Linkedin doesn't influence me since I don't use it enough. Twitch doesn't infuence me and Discord influences me in a good way because I met a lot of people that are different and it allowed me to be more comprehensive and open about some problems that I personnaly didn't have.

My consumption is pretty high, I spend around 4 hours.

Have you ever had a bad experience with social networks?

No bad experience except weird people in DM. It doesn’t always happen, but some boys send me messages in private, thinking they can get me down I guess! As if Instagram were a dating site and a "you're beautiful" will make me fall in love! aha

Do you think that social networks can be at risk? Why ?

Social medias are a risk for young people, for those who are unaware. People should always put their profile in private except if it is for business intentions. If you have a public profile I thing it is very dangerous, especially if you are a kid. Because there are people with bad intention on social media, just like in real life.

Do social networks influence you in everyday life?

Social media influence me, firstly because they keep me busy multiple hours a day, those days, 4 hours because of the quarantine, and less otherwise. It entertains me but it doesn't make me wanna buy things.

I haven't had any opportunities, professionaly nor friendly wise.

I also use Facebook, Snapchat, Whatsapp, Messenger and Twitter occasionally.

I would say 4 hours.

I have NEVER had a bad experience. I have heard a lot of history about the "crazy" social networks but I am fortunate to have never faced this.

Do you think that social networks can be at risk? Why ?

Yes, there are some risks, people think they are anonymous so they feel allowed to insult others and to threaten people through social media (Ex. Koh Lanta yesterday)

Do social networks influence you in everyday life?

Yes, they influence me, especially the ads, I have already bought products that I had seen in ads or that had been promoted by influencers.

I was allowed to contact a « skipper » for the « Spi Dauphine », a sailing race. Other than that, no opportunities.

I use mostly Instagram and Facebook and that’s it.

What is your daily use of social networks?

I use them everyday to check on my friends that don’t live in Paris, I like to see their pictures. I think I am spending 1,2 hour maximum a day on social medias.

No never.

Yes of course I think so. I think we are to addicted and that’s the problem.

No they don’t I’m to old for that !

Yes, I can send pictures more easily to my friends and family abroad and I can see what they’re doing more easily and that’s nice !

I mainly use Instagram and a little Snapchat if it is considered a network. Not Facebook or Twitter.

What is your daily use of social networks?

Since confinement more than an hour a day. But outside between 30 and 45 minutes.

Never

Do you think that social networks can be at risk? Why ?

Yes because everything is saved and saved. We can very well bring you out of the things that you posted a long time ago that don't put you in value or to harm you. You have to be careful, there are a lot of harmful people on social networks.

Yes, because when I get up in the morning I go straight to it. And when I’m bored or I don’t know what to do I go on it. It’s a way to connect around the world, you’re quickly addicted.

Professionally not really seen that I am 15 years old. In a friendly way, I think, that’s what networks are for me. I talk to old friends who live far away and I even got to know new people through social networks.

I use Facebook and Instagram.

What is your daily use of social networks?

Once a day. I would say 10-20 minutes a day.

Have you ever had a bad experience with social networks?

No, never. I'm too infrequent on social media for this to happen to me

Do you think that social networks can be at risk? Why ?

Yes, for example the distribution of personal information, such as photo broadcasts or private moments. Disputes and insults also on the networks are very common. There are many violent conflicts over political opinions for example.

Do social networks influence you in everyday life?

Yes a little bit, I use my phone more than before. I also don’t feel like it changed my life.

Yes to keep in touch or find people with whom I used to be distant because the geographic areas were distant. I was also able to find childhood friends through Facebook.
